In an interview with De Telegraef, the biggest newspaper in Holland, Minister of Finance, Steingrímur J. Sigfússon, said that the Dutch people have nothing to fear, Iceland will pay up the Icesave-bill.

“The Dutch can breathe easily. Their money will be returned,” Sigfússon is quoted.
The minister says that Iceland wants to solve the crisis and pay the obligation. However, such a payment is subject to some conditions.
According to an article in Vidskiptabladid on Thursday the British and Dutch negotiators have offered the Icelandic government the chance to put forward a new offer in the Icesave-dispute. This offer is much better than the “last and final offer” that the countries put forward this spring.
