Minister of Agriculture: “Bush should apologize”

Iceland’s Minister of Agriculture Gudni Ágústsson said yesterday that the US had misused the good will of Icelanders by listing them as supporters of the war in Iraq and should apologize.

Last weekend, Minister of Industry and Trade Jón Sigurdsson declared that supporting the war in Iraq had been a mistake. Bladid reports.

The ministers both belong to the Progressive Party and, according to Bladid, believe that Iceland’s support of the war in Iraq while their party was in government has cost it votes.

The Progressive Party, along with the Independence Party, still has a seat in government, but has been losing a lot of followers lately.
