The personal driver of foreign minister Gunnar Bragi Sveinsson is the best paid government driver with ISK 700,000 (USD 5,150 USD, EUR 4,760) per month, according to daily DV, which requested information about the salaries of ministers’ drivers.
Five ministers’ drivers have a salary of ISK 600,000-700,000, around half of which is for overtime.
The monthly salary of Icelandic parliamentarians is ISK 650,000 (USD 4,780, EUR 4,444) per month.
