A record breaking number of passengers have traveled with Icelandair this year reports Morgunbladid. Jóhanna Einarsdóttir, Icelandair’s one millionth passenger received VIP treatment after she checked into her flight to San Francisco last week. She flew Saga Class and was given a round trip ticket for two to a destination of her choice in Europe.
Jón Karl Ólafsson, CEO of Icelandair said, “This is a very happy occasion since this has never happened so early on in the year – it is evident that this aims to be a record breaking year in terms of passengers. This number [of passengers] is over three times the population of Iceland, last month we shipped 214,000 passengers about 7,000 per day.” Jón Karl continued to say that this result was thanks to the great job done by the employees of Icelandair.
