The residents of Eyrarbakki, a village in south Iceland of less than 600 inhabitants, welcome visitors to a Millennium Festival this weekend. Owners of antique cars are especially welcome and a special campsite will be reserved for them.

A special parking lot has also been reserved for antique cars where a “trunk market” will be held, where various objects will be sold out of the trunks of the cars, mbl.is reports.
Visitors will be invited to have a taste of Icelandic meat soup, the local museums will be open and the festival’s program includes a number of events.
The festival ends on Sunday evening with collective singing, a bonfire and a fireworks show.
