Microbrewery to expand its production

The microbrewery Bruggsmidjan ehf. in Árskógsströnd, northeast Iceland, which opened in October last year, will soon take larger brewing tanks into use and thereby increase its production by 80 percent.

According to Morgunbladid, the beer brewed in the factory, labeled Kaldi, has proven so popular that the brewery can hardly keep up with demand.

With its new tanks, Bruggsmidjan will be able to start producing a darker type of beer too.

Currently only four employees work at the brewery, including a Czech brew master, but a fifth employee will be hired soon.
