The capital region police arrested two men in their twenties in downtown Reykjavík last night who had a shotgun in their vehicle. Police officers on duty recognized the driver, who had recently lost his driving license, and made him stop the car.
Police then discovered that there was a sawed-off shotgun in the passenger seat. The shotgun was loaded with four bullets and the safety was not on, indicating the weapon was ready for use, Morgunbladid reports.
The passenger carried additional bullets and both men were carrying small amounts of illegal substances. They were arrested and taken to the police station for questioning.
