Men complete 650-kilometer walk across Iceland

Hilmar Egill Sveinbjörnsson and Gunnar Júlíus Helgason, from Vogar on Reykjanes peninsula, finished their 650-kilometer walking trip across Iceland, from Fontur on Langenes peninsula to on Reykjanes, yesterday.

The walkers began their 20-day journey on July 6 with the aim of raising money for the sports club Thróttur in Vogar. They enjoyed sunny weather and warm temperatures the entire time, Morgunbladid reports.

Yesterday, Sveinbjörnsson and Helgason walked 30 kilometers, from Thingvellir national park to Tá on Reykjanes, and their friends and family joined them for the final phase of their journey.
