More than twenty five thousand people have signed their names on a Facebook petition to raise a memorial for Helgi Hóseasson, the nation’s most famous protestor. He died last Sunday, at 89 years of age. Ruv.is reports this today.

In the memory of Hóseasson, the Campaign Against Military Bases – CAMB and Vantrú, an organization against the union of church and government, will have a joint screening of the documentary Mótmælandi Íslands, Iceland’s Protestor, by Thora Fjeldsted and Jón Karl Helgason, at Fridarhús, CAMB Hearquarters, on Saturday. Fridarhús is located at Njálsgata 87. Admission will be free.
