Medieval Baths for Tourists in West Iceland

The couple Sigríður Margrét Guðmundsdóttir and Kjartan Ragnarsson, who run the Settlement Center in Borgarnes, West Iceland, are planning to establish medieval baths between Húsafell and the Hraunfossar waterfalls, down by the river Hvítá.

Their idea was among those recommended by consultancy firm PKF in their report on long-term goals in tourism in Iceland, Fréttatíminn reports.

“We have received a very positive response to the project,” stated Sigríður. They are now looking for investors to finance it. The plan is to make replicas of medieval pools and link them to Norse mythology.
