Between 700 and 800 kilos of meat were stolen from a container owned by Kjöthúsid on Sunday night, which was located on Smidjuvegur in Kópavogur, a neighboring town of Reykjavík.
This is the second time since May that meat has been stolen from a container in Kjöthúsid’s ownership, Fréttabladid reports.
The thieves blew up a lock and forced the container open to access the goods, mostly minced meat and hamburgers. They left other and more expensive meat products behind, prime steaks, for example.
There are no suspects for the time being but police are investigating the case.
