“Reykjavík University works to ensure that the quality of its teaching and research meets international standards. Our goal has always been to graduate MBA students who can make practical use of the international knowledge and methodology of the program in Icelandic industry and society,” said Rector of RU Ari Kristinn Jónsson in a press release.

The accreditation certifies that the MBA program at RU is in the top three percent in terms of the quality among approximately 6,000 MBA programs worldwide.

The accreditation is granted by the Association of MBAs (AMBA) which is among the most respected associations of its kind in the world, the press release states.

“The AMBA accreditation confirms that MBA graduates from RU have completed an internationally recognized program of the highest quality, which strengthens their position in the job market both domestically and abroad,” added Dean of the RU School of Business Friðrik Már Baldursson.

High demands are made of universities which receive the AMBA accreditation, and the association has conducted assessments of many of the best business schools around the world.

Among them are the Business School of Oxford University and London Business School in the UK, IESE and ESADE in Spain, INSEAD and HEC in France, CBS in Copenhagen, and IMD in Switzerland.
