The City of Reykjavík held an honorary reception for Icelandic athlete Helgi Sveinsson, who became the world champion in javelin throw at the 2013 IPC Athletics World Championships in France July 20-28.

With his throw of 50.98 meters, Helgi set a new Icelandic record and broke the 15-year-old IPC Athletics World Championships record, Fréttablaðið reports.
Helgi and his coaches were presented with flowers and congratulated for their outstanding achievement.
