U.S. actor Matt Damon will spend two weeks in Iceland to participate in the filming of Interstellar by British director Christopher Nolan of the Dark Knight trilogy, according to The Playlist. Damon is set to play a small role in the film.
Morgunblaðið reports that Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway and Michael Caine will also play in the film but it is uncertain whether they will come to Iceland for the shooting.
The details of the character Damon will portray have not been released. The entire shoot of Interstellar is scheduled for four months. Damon also plays a minor role in the forthcoming film The Zero Theorem by director Terry Gilliam.
Interstellar is among many film and television projects to be shot in Iceland in recent years, including Oblivion starring Tom Cruise and Noah with Russell Crowe. The Game of Thrones crew came to the country for the third time this summer.
