Market up today

After the holiday yesterday the Icelandic market was up again. The ICEX-15 index went up by 0.8%, after falling two days in a row. Landsbanki went up 2.8%, Atorka invest by 1.8%, FL-group by 1.6%, Glitnir bank by 1.2% and Kaupthing bank by 0.8%.

The krona was also stronger at the end of the day in heavy trading. The krona was 2.2% stronger at the end of the day than when the markets opened this morning. The turnover was 51.5 billion ISK more than ever before. The previous record, according to mbl.is was 45.9 billion ISK on March 8, 2006. At the end of the day the dollar was a 77.31 ISK, the Euro at 95.45 ISK and the British pound at 137.8 ISK.
