Many Roads Remain Closed

By Iceland Review

Most roads in the West Fjords are now closed after the heavy snowfall overnight. Snow ploughs will not be sent out until the weather improves.

Our photgrapher Páll Stefánsson is traveling in the north and just sent us this picture from Víkurskarð, east of Akureyri, where about 60 cars are waiting for the road to open.

Many roads in East Iceland are impassable, while roads in the rest of the country are either icy or snow-covered.

Always check road conditions on before your travel.
