A 23-year-old man was arrested on Thursday last week for having attacked a teenage girl in Laugardalur in Reykjavík in the middle of the day last month. He has been sentenced to custody until December 10.

The suspect has confessed to the crime but otherwise claims not to remember anything about the incident because of drug consumption, visir.is reports.
The girl suffered severe injuries to her head but managed to walk up to Sudurlandsbraut where a pedestrian helped her and called an ambulance. The police launched an extensive search for the perpetrator but with no results.
