A man in his thirties underwent surgery at Landspítali, the national hospital, after being stabbed with a knife between 3 and 4 am this morning in Kópavogur, a neighboring town of Reykjavík. He suffered severe stab wounds.

The police consider this to be a case of serious assault. They were called out to an apartment complex in Kópavogur due to a fight, visir.is reports.
At the scene it turned out that a man had been stabbed in his side and also had other cut wounds. An ambulance was called to the scene and the victim taken to the ER.
A man and a woman in their twenties were arrested at the scene and are now being held by police. Further information has not been released.
