Man saved by frost

A man was found unconscious and bleeding near the nightclub Players in Reykjavík suburb Kópavogur on Saturday night. The outside temperature went down to -5°C, which reduced the bleeding and may have saved the man’s life.

The man suffered from injuries to his head while walking home from Players and was not found until 9 am the next morning. His body temperature had dropped to 26°C, as Fréttabladid reports.

At first police suspected the man had been attacked after he left Players, but as he cannot remember being attacked, police now believe he may have just slipped on ice and knocked himself unconscious.

Police are still investigating how the incident occurred and are questioning people who were in Players on Saturday night.

According to doctors, the man’s condition is stable and he is recovering.
