A search is still being conducted for Hörður Björnsson who has been missing since Wednesday morning last week, Vísir reports. He was last seen on Laugarásvegur, Reykjavík, close to his home, at 4:00 am. Police have asked people to check their property for any sign of Hörður, such as their garage, shed and yard.
He is believed to be dressed in black pants and a grey sweater, probably without shoes. He is 25 years old, lean, 188 cm (6 feet 2 in), with long, blond hair and a red beard. If you have any information, please call 843 1106 or notify the Facebook page of the Greater Reykjavík Police.
“We’re focusing our search on the area around Hveragerði and vicinity. We have teams on land, as well as drones and help from the Icelandic Cooast Guard,” reports Guðbrandur Örn Arnarson, project manager for ICE-SAR. Yesterday, all available search methods were used: cars, search dogs, drones, a helicopter and search teams on land. Altogether, 336 people have participated in the search. Today, about 40 people are searching. Police have received dozens of tips, which are being followed.
Guðbrandur Örn says Hörður is probably avoiding people and trying to find some kind of shelter. “He doesn’t want to be found, but he needs help.”
