The Sudurnes Police were alerted to the case around 6 am on Saturday morning after passers-by found the victim’s body outside a house in Keflavík. The bruises on the body indicated that the man had not died from natural causes, Fréttabladid reports.
The police would not reveal further details on this case, saying that further questioning of the suspect and other witnesses had yet to take place.
Chief of Police in Sudurnes Sigrídur Björk Gudjónsdóttir told Morgunbladid that the investigation is well underway but remains at a sensitive stage.
A number of police officers from Sudurnes participated in the investigation last weekend with assistance from police officers and the forensics department of the Capital Region Police.
