Man Given Six Months for Sexual Harassment of Child

The Supreme Court of Iceland has announced a six-month prison sentence, of which three are suspended, over a 24-year-old man for the sexual harassment of his four-year-old niece and the possession of child pornography.

Around 3,000 photographs showing children in a pornographic manner were found on his laptop. He has collected the photographs since he was 13, reports.

The man was convicted for the same offenses in South Iceland District Court in May. The state prosecutor appealed the verdict to the Supreme Court, demanding stricter punishment over the defendant. However, the Supreme Court confirmed the District Court’s verdict.

The violation against the girl took place while the man was watching her in her home in November 2010. During questioning by the police and before the court he confessed to his crimes to the largest extent.
