An Icelandic man in his late 60s was found dead on the morning of 31 March in Árnessýsla county, Southwest Iceland. Two men were arrested at the scene, both brothers of the deceased. One was released the same day, while the other remains in custody.
The deceased, named Ragnar Lýðsson, was born in 1952 and was a master carpenter living in Reykjavík. It is not yet known whether the man’s death was the result of criminal intent, however police reported signs of conflict at the scene.
South Iceland Police are investigating the incident with assistance from Special Forces from the Reykjavík Capital Area Police. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
