A man in his forties was found dead on Monday night after falling in the river Jökulsá í Lóni in East Iceland.
The man was horse riding with around 20 others when the accident occurred, Morgunblaðið reports.
Several of his travel companions saw that he had fallen into the river but were unable to reach him.
Rescue teams from Höfn, Djúpivogur and Fáskrúðsfjörður participated in the search. The Coast Guard helicopter was called out to assist but due to bad weather had to make several attempts before being able to land.
The man was found dead around midnight on Monday.
