Man denies rape at Saga Hotel

An 18-year-old man is in custody suspected of having raped a young woman in the women’s restroom at Radisson Saga Hotel in Reykjavík on March 17. He claims she had agreed to sexual intercourse.

The man will be released from custody today, Fréttabladid reports.

After the incident in the night of March 17, the woman was brought to an emergency room for victims of sexual violence. She had marks on her body that indicated she had been attacked.

The woman filed a lawsuit against the man one week after the incident.
