Man charged for biting police officer in thigh

A man in his late teens has been charged at the Reykjanes District Court on several counts, including damaging property and assaulting a police officer on duty by biting him in the thigh.

According to Fréttabladid, the man slammed a glass door to a sauna at the sports center in Gardabaer, outside Reykjavík, in May of last year, causing it to break.

On another occasion the man was arrested outside a night club in nearby Hafnarfjördur. He resisted the arrest and bit the arresting officer in the thigh.

The public prosecutor brought the charges against the man.
