Man Breaks into Bank, Suffers Cardiac Arrest

The Capital Region Police arrested a man yesterday who had kicked his way into the Kaupthing Bank branch on Austurstraeti in downtown Reykjavík. The man suffered cardiac arrest on the way to the police station but one of the officers managed to save him.

According to police, the man was in an odd condition and very agitated. He is in his twenties and believed to be a foreign tourist. He managed to enter the bank at 8:30 last night and was carrying coins when he was arrested, Fréttabladid reports.

The man was taken to the emergency room of the Landspítali national hospital after the police officer managed to get his heart beating again.
