A man in his early twenties attacked a man with a meat ax Friday who tried to break into his Reykjavík apartment. The ax hit the intruder’s face and split his nose. According to police, the intruder is lucky to be alive.
The apartment owner had been home alone with his fiancé when the incident occurred. Two men, one of whom owed the apartment owner money, broke the door open and the apartment owner attacked the intruder who tried to enter the apartment first with the ax, Morgunbladid reports.
No further struggle was reported. The apartment owner called the police who arrested everyone present and questioned them at the police station.
