Machine Guns Still in Iceland

It is yet to be decided when and how the 250 MP5 submachine guns will be returned to the Norwegian Armed Forces, according to spokesperson for the Norwegian military Vegard Finberg’s a written response to Icelandic national broadcaster RÚV.

After it came to light that Iceland would have to pay for the guns, it was decided to send them back. Initially, the Icelandic Coast Guard stated its intention to use 100 of the guns while the remaining 150 were to go to the police.

The Commissioner of the Icelandic Police has expressed interest in purchasing some of the weapons, ruv.is reports.
