Akureyri’s Thorsteinn Már Baldvinsson, president of Samherji, pays the highest taxes in Iceland in 2009, according to mbl.is.

His taxes amount to 169,6 million ISK. This is almost three times lower than what last year’s “Tax King” Kristinn Gunnarsson had to pay.
The taxes of the highest paying individual have not been lower since 2005. Then, Frosti Bergsson paid a total of 122,8 million ISK.
