The weather in Iceland has been extremely good this summer. In fact some are complaining over excessive drought. Farmers can’t get enough hay, salmon rivers are drying up and even golf courses are turning yellow. The weekend might be a relief because rain of 20-25 mm is expected in many areas, due to a deep depression coming over the country.

In the southwest area of Iceland it could be both wet and windy according to meteorologist Einar Sveinbjörnsson. After the weekend he expects colder weather over northern Iceland, and it could even rain.
It you are in a tent prepare for a wet weekend. ”It will feel like someone slowly poured 20-25 liters (five to six gallons) of water per square meter (ten square feet)”, Einar Sveinbjörnsson says.
