The setting up of new and improved security checkpoints at Keflavík International Airport is taken longer than expected, resulting in long queues, according to a statement from Isavia, which services the airport.
Last week long delays at peak times were reported. Yesterday, all 17 of Icelandair’s morning flights were delayed as a result. The increase in tourists as well as change in procedures, which has meant staff have had to be trained, are among the reasons for the delays, Vísir reports.
Passengers are asked to arrive at the airport on time. Those who are traveling between 6 and 9 am, 3 to 5 pm and around midnight are asked to arrive at least three hours before departure.
