Lonely Planet Recommends Iceland in August

Authors of the travel guide Lonely Planet urge tourists to visit Iceland in August and say there has never been a better reason to travel to the country. The exchange rate is favorable and disruptions of flights because of the eruption in Eyjafjallajökull are over.

In particular, Reykjavík is recommended. Iceland’s capital is described as the perfect location for those longing for literally “endless” summer days, mbl.is reports.

The guide also promised good weather in Iceland over the summer months, pointing out that the interior of the country is open, recommending Landmannalaugar, a geothermal area in the southern highland, as a destination.

As for other places suitable for people traveling in August, Lonely Planet mentioned Orlando for its good weather and interesting Harry Potter family park.
