A new poll from MMR reveals that the Pirate Party still enjoys more support than any other party in Iceland, or 33 percent (down from 35 percent in the last poll, conducted at the end of July). This is the fifth month in a row that the Pirates top the polls.
Bright Future has the support of 5.8 percent of voters (up from 4.4 percent), and support for the government is now at 34.4 percent (up from 33.2 percent in the last poll).
The Independence Party has 25.3 percent support (up from 23.1 percent), while the Progressive Party has 11.4 percent (compared with 12.2 percent in July).
The Social Democratic Alliance now has the backing of 10.6 percent of voters (up from 9.6 percent). The Left-Green Movement has 9.6 percent support (down from 10.2 percent in July).
Other parties enjoy less that 1 percent of voters’ support.
The poll was conducted August 30-September 3. The number of respondents, all 18 and older, was 1,023.
