Left-Green Rebels Reprimanded by Party Leadership

arnithorsigurdsson_althingiÁrni Thór Sigurdsson, parliamentary group vice-chairman of the Left-Green Movement, accused the three members of his party who didn’t back the coalition’s budget bill of unsportsmanlike behavior and unfair perversions on RÚV’s news magazine Kastljós yesterday.

In a declaration, the threesome, Lilja Mósesdóttir, Atli Gíslason and Ásmundur Einar Dadason, criticized the treatment of the budget bill and accused the majority of leadership bullying and prescriptivism.

Sigurdsson stated on Kastljós that the budget bill had repeatedly been discussed in the Left-Greens’ parliamentary group and that Mósesdóttir’s suggestions had been taken into account.

Regarding the threesome’s position, he commented, “I believe these MPs must give you the answer themselves on whether they will be able to work with the rest of us.”

However, he doesn’t rule out that there can be a continuance of their cooperation, although there certainly has been a breach of trust. “Naturally they must work hard to rebuild that trust.”
