Least Sunny June in Almost 20 Years in Iceland

The number of sunshine hours in Reykjavík in June was unusually low last month, or 121.7 hours, 90 hours less than the average for June over the last ten years. Reykjavík has not seen such little sunshine since 1995, visir.is reports.

The average temperature in Reykjavík last month was 9.9ºC (49.82ºF), 0.6ºC under the average for the last two years. Akureyri, on the other hand, had an average temperature of 11.4ºC, the highest June temperature in 60 years.

As reported earlier today, the weather in Reykjavík on the weekend was good after a number of rainy days.
