LazyTown nominated for Emmys

Magnús Scheving, the creator of Icelandic children’s TV series LazyTown, and the show’s co-director, Jonathan Judge, have been nominated for the US Daytime Emmy Awards.

According to ruv.is, this is the second time LazyTown has been nominated for the Emmys. Last year, Julianna Rose Mauriello, who plays the role of Stephanie, was nominated for outstanding performance in a children’s series. This year’s award will be handed out in June in the Kodak Theater in Hollywood.

In November last year, LazyTown won the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards (BAFTA) for best international children’s program.

In December, the single “Bing Bang” from LazyTown reached fourth place of the Top 40 UK Singles Charts.
