Lay Low Supports Organization Fighting Violence

Icelandic singer/songwriter Lovísa Elísabet Sigrúnardóttir, a.k.a. Lay Low, will donate the profits from the sale of her latest album, containing music from the play Ökutímar (“Driving Lessons”), to the organization Aflid in Akureyri, which fights violence.

The play is currently being staged at Akureyri Theater (LA) in northeast Iceland and features a woman who was sexually abused as a child. Lay Low’s album will be released in January, Morgunbladid reports.

The singer said she would like to use the opportunity to help fighting and encouraging open discussion about gender-based violence. LA will also donate part of its profits to Aflid.
