Lay Low nominated for four awards

Icelandic musician Lay Low has been nominated for four awards at the 2006 Icelandic Music Awards: Album of the Year, Singer of the Year, Song of the Year and Cover of the Year.

Lovísa Elísabet Sigrúnardóttir, aka Lay Low, is a 23-year-old singer-songwriter from Reykjavík. She received more nominations than any other musician this year.

Lay Low’s critically acclaimed album Please Don’t Hate Me, a mixture of blues, country and rock, has been in the top ten of the Icelandic charts for seven weeks in a row.

The nominations for the 2006 Icelandic Music Awards were announced this week and the award ceremony will be held on 31 January 2007 in the National Theater. Please Don’t Hate Me is published by COD Music.
