On Monday afternoon search and rescue teams found a missing Latvian tourist who had been travelling in Iceland. A 42 year old woman, Ligita Solomenceva, was reported missing by a Latvian friend who had not heared from her since the middle of May. The body was found about 200 meters from the road leading to a summerhouse in which Solomenceva had been staying. The summerhouse is by Medalfellsvatn, about 50 kilometers from Reykjavík.
The body was found on Monday afternoon after about 100 members of the search and rescue team had been searching for Solomenceva. According to police there was no indication of how the woman died at this stage. The police have no suspicion that the death was caused by foul play according to visir.is.
