The last image to be taken of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise before the announcement of their split is believed to have been taken in Iceland by Morgunblaðið photographer Júlíus Pétursson, mbl.is reports.

The photos were taken on Þingholtsstræti in downtown Reykjavík two weeks before Holmes reportedly filed for divorce. Júlíus sold the images to news and photo agency Splash and they have since appeared on the Mail Online and TMZ, among other websites, Morgunblaðið reports.
Tom Cruise has been in Iceland shooting scenes for his new film Oblivion, including by the highland lakes Veiðivötn (pictured), and had been planning on celebrating his 50th birthday, which is today, in Iceland.
