Last Days of “Food & Fun” in Iceland

The seventh annual and largest Food & Fun festival to date is currently being held in Reykjavík. It was launched on Wednesday and closes tomorrow. Almost 40 chefs from ten different countries are participating in the festival as guest chefs at 15 local restaurants.

The highlight of the festival is an international cooking competition at Reykjavík Art Museum – Hafnarhús today, which anyone interested can come and watch.

The initiative “New Nordic Food,” spearheaded by the Nordic Council, was formally presented under the Food & Fun festival’s label at the Blue Lagoon yesterday by ambassadors from each of the Nordic countries and Iceland’s Prime Minister Geir H. Haarde.

The purpose of the project is to connect first-class gastronomy with Nordic quality ingredients, sustainability, health, traditional values and culture.
