The police in Akureyri, north Iceland, confiscated 1.2 kilos of amphetamine and 100 grams of hashish during three raids, which were undertaken simultaneously on Tuesday evening.

Two men, in their twenties and forties, were arrested and are currently in custody, until April 26 and May 1, respectively, Fréttabladid reports.

During the raids, equipment was found that is believed to have been used for cannabis production. Twelve heat lamps and other equipment were confiscated but no cannabis plants were discovered.

Around 15 police officers from Akureyri, Blönduós and the office of the National Commissioner of the Icelandic Police participated in the raids.
