Landsvirkjun refuses to disclose energy price to Alcoa

Icelandic National Broadcasting Service, RÚV, reports that the board of directors of Landsvirkjun has voted against a motion by board member Helgi Hjörvar to make public the energy prices it charges Alcoa at the Alcoa aluminium smelter under construction at Reydarfjördur in the north-eastern part of Iceland.

Recently, the chairman and CEO of Alcoa, Alain Belda, was quoted in the Brazilian press to the effect that Alcoa was paying twice as much for electricity in Brazil than in Iceland.
