The owners of Reykjavík-based company Gaedakokkar (“Quality Cooks”) have delayed relocating their company to Borgarnes, west Iceland, due to difficulties in finding plumbers and electricians to make necessary changes to the new facilities.
The decision of relocating the company was made last year, but now the owners are uncertain when Gaedakokkar can open in Borgarnes, ruv.is reports.
Many new buildings have been constructed in Borgarnes during the past six months and more are scheduled to rise in the coming months.
Lack of skilled workers may, however, become a problem; it is difficult to get builders, plumbers and electricians to work in the area because of the expansion in the capital region.
