Kópavogur Jazz and Blues Festival Opens This Week

The third Kópavogur Jazz and Blues festival will take place from June 4 to June 6. The festival opens on Friday with a blues concert in Salurinn concert hall at 9 pm with some of Iceland’s finest musicians within the genre, as stated on icelandicmusic.is.

Miles Griffith, this year’s honorary guest.

Performers are Jóhann G Jóhannsson (bass player, vocalist and composer), Björn Thoroddsen (guitar), Gunnar Hrafnsson (bass), Jóhann Hjörleifsson (drums), Richard Gillis (trumpet), Thór Kristinsson and Dagur Sigurdsson (vocal).

The following day, also at 9 pm, there will be another concert in Salurinn, this time featuring New York vocalist Miles Griffith along with Björn Thoroddsen (guitar), Gunnar Hrafnsson (bass), Jóhann Hjörleifsson (drums) and Richard Gillis (trumpet).
