Kópavogur Club Icelandic Champion in Handball

hk-logoHK from Kópavogur became Icelandic Champion in men’s handball for the first time in the club’s history yesterday evening after its third victory over FH from Hafnarfjörður in the latter team’s home court, Kaplakriki.

The end score was 28-26 for HK, which maintained the lead the entire time, Morgunblaðið reports.

HK’s achievement is considered especially notable because the team did not lose any of its games in the final round. “It is absolutely incredible to go through the finals six-nil, not to lose a game,” commented HK player Ólafur Bjarki Ragnarsson.
