Kirkjufjara Beach to be Avoided

By Iceland Review

Access to Kirkjufjara beach, by Dyrhólaey, South Iceland, will be closed temporarily, according to the Facebook page of the Environment Agency of Iceland. Travelers are warned not to go down to the beach under any circumstances, due to the risk of falling rocks. A large number of rocks fell in the area October 30.

The Icelandic Met Office plans to evaluate the steadiness of the cliff top this week and decide whether tourists should also avoid walking along the cliff top of Dyrhólaey.
