Kings of Leon Book Iceland Concert

The American rock band Kings of Leon will hold a concert in Iceland this summer, it has been announced.

The band will perform at Laugardalshöll arena in Reykjavík on August 13 and it will be the first time Kings of Leon have visited Iceland, according to RÚV.

Kings of Leon have been one of the most popular rock bands in the world for the past decade, or even longer. They have released six albums and swept up prestigious awards like trash off the street. Singles including ‘Sex on Fire’ and ‘Use Somebody’ have reached number one in countries around the globe.

Kings of Leon are from Oklahoma State in the USA and formed in 1999. The band is made up of brothers Caleb, Nathan and Jared Followhill and their cousin, Matthew Followhill.

They were mostly famous in the UK to begin with, but their fame in their home country—and around the world—grew dramatically with the release of their fourth album, ‘Only by the Night’, in 2008.

Ticket sales for the Reykjavík gig this August go on sale on June 16.
