Keflavik Airport Celebrates 7 Millionth Passengers of 2017

By Iceland Review

Chris and Joanne Bradley had the distinction of being the 7 millionth passengers to travel through Keflavík International Airport this year. Upon their arrival, the two were welcomed with a gift package of products from the airport’s stores.

The number of passengers at Keflavík is divided into arrivals, departures, and stopovers, each of which count as one passenger. Last year’s total number surpassed 6.8 million, while this year is expected to surpass 8.7 million, for an increase of 28 percent. If the predictions are indeed fulfilled, the number of passengers in 2017 will be more than four times the number in 2010.
